2. The concept of money

Everything at this event will revolve around fake dollars. Your team (hereinafter guilds) are tasked with making a product or service that people will be able to use at the event. You'll get $100 dollars.

Fake dollars are weighed differently to the real US Dollar. E.g. a Pinecil would cost $25.99 but in the marketplace, it might cost $7. We're subsidizing many of the costs for you!

With this $100, you can do a lot:

  • You can buy things like calipers, PCBs, 3D prints or services like a VPS from Hetzner.
  • You can barter with people for their things
  • You can even take deposits and raise money for certain things

To get extra money, you can attend check-in meetings, answer questions in the help channels, or even compete in capture-the-flag events we will have before and during the event.

The money will revolve around the central bank. The central bank has an API. You can use it to make a point-of-sale system, track spending in your channel, or what have you. There are many things which you can do
